Lily Ann's Peach Upside Down Cake

Ingredients
  • 3-4 peaches peeled and sliced
  • 4 T melted butter
  • 4 T brown sugar
  • for the batter:
  • 1½ c flour
  • 1¼ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 4 T softened butter
  • 1 well beaten egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ to 1 c milk
Instructions
  1. Mix together the 4 T melted butter and 4 T brown sugar.
  2. Pour into a 9 x 9 in. pan
  3. Arrange peach sliced in the pan in the butter-sugar mixture
  4. In a mixer combine the batter ingredients
  5. Pour over the peaches
  6. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes
  7. Top with Cool Whip or ice cream
